The Fall’s “Post Script” came out on 2 October through Cog Sinister: nine tracks featuring the voice of Mark E. Smith, who died in 2018, credited to Smith, Ed Blaney and Simon Archer.
Shady Bug – I wanted to be there
St. Louis indie rock band Shady Bug released “I wanted to be there”, their third full-length, on 30 October: fourteen tracks on the Julia’s War label.
Third Sign – The Apocalypse Didn’t Happen
Third Sign, the Berlin duo of Lars Mindach and Monika Herold, released their debut album, “The Apocalypse Didn’t Happen”, on 19 June; it’s on the German critics’ rock longlist.
Bradford Cox revives Atlas Sound with “Octoberland”, the project’s first song since 2011
The Deerhunter frontman has released the first new song from his solo project since “Parallax” on 4AD. Atlas Sound is on the Primavera Sound 2027 bill.
Michael Kiwanuka – FUDGE
Michael Kiwanuka releases “FUDGE” on 23 October through Polydor: twelve tracks and the first album produced without Danger Mouse or Inflo.
SEK – Wallensteins Garage
SEK, a Berlin trio, make their debut with “Wallensteins Garage”, five tracks on Exile On Mainstream about General Wallenstein.
Queens of the Stone Age – Perfecth
Queens of the Stone Age release “Perfecth” on 30 October through Matador: their ninth studio album, produced by Josh Homme and Michael Shuman.
N8NOFACE – Tomorrow’s World
N8NOFACE releases “Tomorrow’s World” on Stones Throw on 16 October 2026, an album produced by Dave Sitek with Hudson Mohawke, Snow Wife and Angélica Garcia.
Pizarnik
Pizarnik is a Barcelona band that describes itself as post dark rock and released the record Pizarnik on 30 June 2023, recorded at Hukot Studio in Barcelona.
David Bowie
David Bowie, London-born singer and composer who moved from the glam of Ziggy Stardust to the Berlin trilogy of Low, “Heroes” and Lodger, and died in 2016, two days after releasing Blackstar.
Marc Ribot
Marc Ribot, guitarist born in Newark, who leads Ceramic Dog and Los Cubanos Postizos and has released albums since 1990 such as Rootless Cosmopolitans and Silent Movies.
Lesoir
Lesoir, the Dutch progressive rock band from Maastricht founded in 2009 by Maartje Meessen and Ingo Dassen, with six studio albums between 2011 and 2024.
Oceansize
Oceansize, the Manchester band active between 1998 and 2011, which released four studio albums, from Effloresce (2003) to Self Preserved While the Bodies Float Up (2010).
Kraftwerk
Kraftwerk, the electronic band from Düsseldorf founded in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, authors of the albums Autobahn (1974) and Trans-Europe Express (1977).
W. H. Lung go on indefinite hiatus and say goodbye on 20 November at Manchester’s Albert Hall
The Manchester band release “Where Will You Go?” on Melodic and say they do not know “when or whether” they will be back. Their tenth-anniversary show is the last one booked.
Cloud Nothings release “What Kind of Hell Did You Survive?” on 29 January, nine tracks recorded with Seth Manchester
Dylan Baldi says the band felt pigeonholed in indie rock and that the record came out of listening to funeral doom on a European tour. The first preview is “Death Keeps Me Alive”.
CHVRCHES set “All The King’s Men” for 22 January, their first album since August 2021
Eleven songs on Futures Music Group, with “Roses” as the preview. The 2027 tour takes in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, with no Spanish date.

“Wweennddyy Eeiisseennbbeerrgg” has two tracks and runs 46:09, against the 43:57 of the ten-song album it came from. Trevor Dunn, Mari Rubio and Ryan Sawyer play on it.
Agnes Obel – The Meaning of Flowers
Six years, stated on the sleeve: written, recorded, arranged, produced and mixed by her alone in Berlin between 2020 and 2026. Nine guests play on it; none of them decides anything.
Geordie Greep will not play Barcelona: Estrella Galicia cancels the three Spanish dates of the tour
He was due at Sala Upload on 23 November, as part of the SON Estrella Galicia series. The promoter has emailed ticket holders and refunds are being issued.
Emma Ruth Rundle – These Killing Times
Rundle’s first record with a band since “Engine of Hell”. She puts it out on her own imprint, Errant Child, and she does not play the solo on the opening song.
Jez Williams, guitarist of Doves, releases his first solo album on 26 February
“Life Of Me And You” is ten songs and comes out on Earth To Echo Records. The first shows are in Manchester in November. Doves, meanwhile, are three or four songs into album seven.
Prize Horse sign to Closed Casket Activities and release “The Big Picture”, the first song they wrote for the new album
The Minneapolis trio swap New Morality Zine for the Troy hardcore label. The song has demos going back to 2023 and, they say, ends with the heaviest section they have ever written.
Clustersun set “Anti You” for 5 March and share “Fire! Fire! Fire!”, a song that goes back to the 2021 sessions
The Sicilian trio release their fourth album on 5 March 2027 through Sister 9 and Vina Records. The song was started at the end of the “Avalanche” sessions and finished live.
The Pretty Reckless redo “About You” with Dave Grohl on drums and Pat Smear on guitar
Taylor Momsen called the two Foo Fighters in for a new version of a “Dear God” track. Grohl had already stood in for her twice as AC/DC’s opener this year.
Mike Patton sings on three tracks of “No Bad Memories”, out today from The Avalanches

Unité Douleur – Sun Burns
A third EP in ten months and a third with four tracks: twenty-three minutes of post-metal from Caen in which the shortest song the band have ever recorded arrives second and never returns.
Big Thief open a free archive with ten full concerts and will add one a month
Ten complete shows recorded between 2019 and 2026 and mixed at 4AD’s studio, all of it free. A new one goes up on the second Tuesday of every month.
Matador remasters Butthole Surfers’ “piouhgd” and “Humpty Dumpty LSD” and presses them on 11 December
Both remasters are already on streaming and the vinyl follows on 11 December. “Humpty Dumpty LSD” restores the two tracks that in 2002 only made the double LP.
Marika Hackman announces “False Dogs” for 19 February and shares “33”
The fifth album is out on 19 February through Chrysalis. She wrote, produced and arranged it on her own and plays almost every instrument; the first track heard from it is “33”.
Fontaines D.C. release “Where Is Gone?”, their duet with Rosalía, four days before “Dopamine Chamber”
It’s the third advance track from the fifth album, out on 16 October through XL, and the first guest collaboration to appear on a Fontaines D.C. album. They play Barcelona on the 24th.
Kee Avil – Vapor
Vicky Mettler released each song as she finished it and has gathered them at the end: twenty-five minutes, eight lower-case titles and a change of label after two albums on Constellation.
The Raconteurs play together again after seven years, in the encore of a Jack White show in Nashville
They closed White’s second night at the Truth with five songs, four of them off the debut. Third Man Records has just announced a box set for the 20th anniversary of “Broken Boy Soldiers”.
Dallas Seger of Manic Abraxas releases “Azure” as David Caress: twelve songs made on his own
The Seger Guitars luthier launches a solo post-punk project. Steve Austin of Today Is The Day mixed and mastered it.

German-Chilean septet from Cologne, second album and first for Tonzonen: seven songs written one apiece, new horns and a bird from Chilean myth pierced by an arrow on the sleeve.
Ankor release “I See Red” on 20 November, seven songs about the villains of “Naruto”
The band from Els Pallaresos are back with an album on UNFD and have shared “ITACHI · blood moon”. Neither of the two tours they have announced for the autumn has a Spanish date.
V.V. Lightbody – Period Piece
Thirty-six minutes for ten songs and the first album the Chicago singer and flautist has produced herself. Eight of the ten don’t reach four minutes.
Space Ghost – Back From Reality
Five years of part-time work for forty-two minutes of ambient and downtempo made in Oakland, with PlayStation 2 startup screens as the stated model.
