Jez Williams releases “Life Of Me And You” on 26 February 2027 through Earth To Echo Records. It is the first solo album by the Doves guitarist and runs to ten songs, among them “Hurt Proof”, “J.U.M.P.”, “Walk Alone” and “Magnificent Morning”. The first single is “Hollow Man”.

“It is a real labour of love,” Williams tells NME, adding that he did not have a choice about making it. While he was recording it he stopped listening to current music, and he cites Lou Reed, AC/DC, Scott Walker and the pop of the sixties and seventies.

His first shows will be supporting Elbow, at the “Asleep In The Back” 25th anniversary nights at The Ritz in Manchester, from 20 to 22 November. Nathan Sudders is on bass and Adam Darwen on drums, and he will not be playing any Doves songs there.

Doves are on a touring hiatus. “We’ve already started album seven, we’re about three or four songs in,” says Williams, and there are recordings made with singer Jimi Goodwin.
