Fontaines D.C. released “Where Is Gone?” on 12 October, with a video. It’s the third advance track from “Dopamine Chamber”, the Irish quintet’s fifth album, due on 16 October through XL Recordings, and the first guest collaboration to appear on a Fontaines D.C. album: Rosalía.

The track is the eighth of the album’s eleven. The tracklist went public on 17 September and the collaboration was already on it, though the song itself stayed unreleased until now. The two earlier advance tracks are “Marianne”, from 18 August, and “Tongue”, which arrived with a video on 30 September.

“I’ve been a fan of Rosalía since her debut album, which was absolutely beautiful,” says guitarist Carlos O’Connell. “What really excited me was how she was keeping a Spanish tradition of music alive, which in a spiritual way felt akin to what we’ve tried to do with Irish music.” O’Connell was born in Madrid: “For someone with roots in both countries, it’s been beautiful to see. She’s an artist who’s blown me away at every stage.”

James Ford produces the album, as he did “Romance” in 2024. The band play the Sant Jordi Club in Barcelona on Saturday 24 October, eight days after the release, and it is their only Catalan date on the tour.
