The Fall’s “Post Script” came out on 2 October through Cog Sinister: nine tracks featuring the voice of Mark E. Smith, who died in 2018, credited to Smith, Ed Blaney and Simon Archer.

The New York multi-instrumentalist, whose father was Pharoah Sanders, has an eight-track album coming on Gilles Peterson’s label. The third single came out today.
Imperial Triumphant sign to Metal Blade and have already finished recording their first album for the label
The New York band, who made three albums with Century Media, have finished tracking their Metal Blade debut with Colin Marston, who is also mixing it. They’re back in Europe with Knoll this month.

Chercán, a quintet from Valdivia, Chile, released “Canto de silicio”, their second album, on 23 October: twelve tracks with saxophones, flute and guest strings on three pieces.

Saxophonist Marty Ehrlich released a 42-track double CD of Julius Hemphill’s compositions for saxophone quartet on 28 August, through Out Of Your Head Records.
Howard Levy – Heavy World
Harmonica player and pianist Howard Levy released “Heavy World” on 25 September: twelve solo pieces, made up of originals, improvisations and arrangements of Bach, Saint-Saëns and traditional tunes.

Deep Purple postpone the rest of their European tour until further notice over Ian Gillan’s health
Gillan had a medical problem in Leipzig and his doctors advise against finishing the tour. All the remaining European and UK shows are postponed.

Pianist John Donaldson has released “We Were Together, I Forget the Rest” on Hexagonal Records: seven tracks recorded at Real World Studios with Norma Winstone, Rebecka Edlund and Rob Luft.
