Meshuggah will play Madrid’s Palacio Vistalegre on 21 October 2027, the only Spanish date of “The Forty-Year Anomaly”, the European tour marking the Swedish band’s fortieth anniversary. Periphery and Vildhjarta are the special guests.

There are twenty shows, from KB Hallen in Copenhagen on 29 September to the OVO Arena Wembley in London on 30 October, across fourteen countries. Germany gets five. The Iberian Peninsula gets two in a row: Madrid and, the next night, Lisbon’s Campo Pequeno. Barcelona isn’t on the list.

The band formed in Umeå in 1987. Their latest studio album is still “Immutable”, their ninth, from 2022; this year they’ve reissued two older records, “Destroy Erase Improve” and “Catch Thirtythree”, in remastered editions.

They last played Barcelona on 25 March 2024, at Razzmatazz, the night after La Riviera in Madrid, and were back in Spain on 12 June 2025 at the Z! Live Rock Fest in Zamora. According to the tour announcement, tickets go on sale on Friday 6 November at 12:00 CET; it doesn’t say who is promoting the Madrid show.
