Deep Purple postpone the rest of their European tour until further notice over Ian Gillan’s health
Gillan had a medical problem in Leipzig and his doctors advise against finishing the tour. All the remaining European and UK shows are postponed.
Scorpions open their 2027 European tour at the Palau Sant Jordi on 29 April
Barcelona is the first of four Spanish dates and the first show of the whole tour. Tickets go on sale on Friday 6 November.
Jethro Tull – J-Tull Dot Com (Another Cast Of The Net)
An expanded reissue of “J-Tull Dot Com”, Jethro Tull’s 1999 album: a Bruce Soord remix, a CD of additional material with unreleased tracks and the album’s first vinyl release.
Deep Purple postpone their Leipzig and Hamburg shows as Ian Gillan is in hospital
The band cite a medical emergency involving their 81-year-old singer and are looking for new dates for the two German shows. Tickets remain valid.
Atomic Kings – Too
Atomic Kings, with the bassist Greg Chaisson (ex-Badlands), release “Too” on 19 October through FireRock Music Group: their second album, with nine tracks.
Maryann Cotton – Chester Rose
Maryann Cotton releases “Chester Rose” on 30 October through Deko Entertainment: twelve songs written by Cotton, Dick Wagner and Alice Cooper.
Sons of Cream, featuring the sons of Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, release “Half and Half” in January: half Cream, half their own songs
Malcolm Bruce, Kofi Baker and Rob Johnson’s first album comes out on Marshall Records: six Cream songs and six new ones, recorded at the amp factory in Milton Keynes.
Queen
Queen, London band formed in 1970 by Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor, authors of A Night at the Opera (1975), who have performed with Adam Lambert since 2011.
David Bowie
David Bowie, London-born singer and composer who moved from the glam of Ziggy Stardust to the Berlin trilogy of Low, “Heroes” and Lodger, and died in 2016, two days after releasing Blackstar.
Saturna
Saturna, the Barcelona psychedelic hard rock quartet formed in 2010, which released its sixth album, Light and Shadow, on 17 September 2026.
Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath, the Birmingham band formed in 1968 by Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, with a final concert by the original lineup at Villa Park in 2025.
Birth Control
Birth Control, the Berlin band that blends krautrock, hard rock and progressive rock, as heard on Operation (1971) and Hoodoo Man (1972), and that reorganised in 2016 after drummer Bernd Noske died in 2014.
Atomic Rooster
Atomic Rooster, the British band founded in 1969 by keyboardist Vincent Crane and drummer Carl Palmer, which disbanded in 1975, returned in 1980 and was re-formed in 2016; in 2025 it released Circle the Sun.
Wishbone Ash
Wishbone Ash, the band from Torquay formed in 1969 with two lead guitarists, who released Argus in 1972 and remain active with Andy Powell as the only founding member.
Nicke Andersson signs to Sound Pollution for his first solo album, on which he plays every instrument
It is called “Nicke Andersson And Nobody Else” and the Entombed drummer and Hellacopters guitarist handles the instruments, the production and the artwork. The label has given no date.
Umbilicus unveil “Prelude: Eternity”, seven minutes from the EP they release on 20 November
The quartet playing seventies rock with Cannibal Corpse’s drummer and Deicide’s guitarist put out the EP’s second single, the longer of the two released so far.
Bruce Dickinson duets with Graham Bonnet on the first single from “Circuit Breaker”
“The Fifth Force Of Nature” came out on 12 October with a video. The album arrives on 26 March 2027 through Frontiers, and Bonnet and Roger Glover meet again on it.
Glenn Hughes is home after a ten-hour open-heart operation
The 75-year-old singer and bassist posted the news after an eight-day stay at UCLA in Los Angeles. In August he announced he was retiring from the stage.
Blondie release “High Noon” on 26 February, the last record with Clem Burke’s drums

The Rolling Stones expand “Foreign Tongues” with four unreleased tracks, out on 27 November
The expanded edition of July’s album adds four unreleased recordings plus “Bad Luck Hideaway”, cut in 2015 with Charlie Watts. It comes on red vinyl and double CD.
Sari Schorr – Running Wild
Her first solo studio album in eight years, made by four people at Lucid Studios. The voice arrives intact; what the record never finds is somebody to push back against it.
Kula Shaker re-record the whole of “K” in analogue and release it on 5 February
“K-Reinkarnate” was cut live to two-inch tape by the original line-up. It restores three songs from the 1996 sessions that had been left off.
Elton John reissues “Rock of the Westies” with nine piano-and-vocal takes from the 1975 sessions
The fiftieth anniversary edition is out on 20 November on double vinyl, double CD and digital. “Street Kids” can already be heard.
Greta Van Fleet – Palace for the People
Thirteen tracks and fifty-eight minutes, three years after “Starcatcher”, with Mike Elizondo producing. The record where the band answers the charge of never changing, and doesn’t quite refute it.
Aerosmith return to the stage on 29 October and 1 November at the Hollywood Bowl, with twenty-odd guests
“California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends” is two nights with The Black Crowes, Run-DMC, Heart, Slash, Sammy Hagar and Tom Morello. The band last played on 9 September 2023.
The “Zoot Allures” fiftieth anniversary box arrives on 4 December with five CDs and a 1976 Paris concert
Zappa Records and Universal put in what was meant to be the 1976 double LP, the old mixes, and two CDs of a Paris show from March that year.

The Knights of Unicron – The Transformers: The Movie: The Soundtrack: The Reformatted Edition

The Dead Daisies take on Kelly Hansen in place of John Corabi and release “Lift Me Up”
The singer who spent twenty years in Foreigner replaces John Corabi, who had two stints in the band. Jimi Crutchley comes in on bass and the album is being recorded.
The David Bowie estate opens a year of events for the eightieth birthday, which falls on 8 January
Bowie80 started on Monday and runs through 2027: exhibitions in Manchester, Brighton and Hamburg, and a symphonic piece with Philip Glass.
The Scorpions film, “Wind of Change”, opens in German cinemas on 28 January
Alexander Dreymon plays Rudolf Schenker and Dominic West plays Doc McGhee. So far there is only a German date: no international release is announced.

Badlands bassist Greg Chaisson returns on 19 October with Atomic Kings’ second album
“Too” runs to nine songs and is sold from the band’s own site. It is out on FireRock Music Group and the advance track is “I’m A Mover”.
