“Wind of Change”, the film about the Scorpions, opens in German cinemas on 28 January 2027. Alex Ranarivelo directs.
Alexander Dreymon plays Rudolf Schenker, Ludwig Trepte plays Klaus Meine, Ed Speleers plays Matthias Jabs and Luke Brandon Field plays Herman Rarebell. Dominic West plays the band’s manager Doc McGhee, and David Kross plays Andrej, an imprisoned friend. The poster sells it as “the true story of how the Scorpions changed the world with their music”.
It is produced by ESX Entertainment for FOX Entertainment Studios in association with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, with worldwide distribution rights held by FOX Entertainment Global outside the United States. The story runs through the Cold War and the song, written in 1989 and released in 1990, that gives the film its title.
Klaus Meine says producer Ali Afshar threw himself into it “with heart and soul”.
