Spanish Love Songs have released “Doom Tripping”, a preview of “Future Nausea”, the album Pure Noise Records puts out on 6 November. It is produced by Chris Walla, formerly the guitarist in Death Cab for Cutie, and Sarah Tudzin of Illuminati Hotties.
Dylan Slocum says what he was after and the state he was in when he wrote it: “This song is my attempt to make a shimmering pop song that evokes how it feels to be inside my brain right now. I wrote a good chunk of it while I had to taper off antidepressants for awhile and started suffering from severe vertigo and the return of symptoms that had previously made me lose my voice for 3 months.”
“Future Nausea” has twelve tracks. The first carries the album title and the tenth is called “Future Nausea, Pt. 2”; “Doom Tripping” sits seventh and “Until the Sun Explodes” closes the record. In between are “Good American”, “New Fears”, “Jan666”, “Shadowland”, “No Dreams” and “See You on the Way Out”.
