“Atropa”, the third album from Swiss band E-L-R, came out on 6 November 2026 on Prophecy Productions. It runs to six tracks: “Oaken Reaper”, “Archeress”, “Cobalt Wound”, “Solace Tracery”, “Saltwinds” and “Echo Space”. Its predecessor, “Vexier”, came out on the same label on 11 March 2022. The new record is streaming in full on the band’s Bandcamp.
Bassist I.R. and guitarist S.M., who share vocals, founded the band in Bern in 2016, and drummer M.K. joined soon after. He didn’t make it to “Atropa”: according to the label, health problems forced him out when the album was barely under way, and Prophecy now presents E-L-R as a duo. The record took shape during a period of illness and profound transformation, and its lyrics move through grief, delirium, obsessive love and resilience.
According to the credits of the vinyl edition (catalogue number PRO441LP), the album was recorded at Hidden Stash and Verwaltzen Productions, then mixed and mastered at Hidden Stash. Remo Häberli co-produced it with the band, engineered, mixed and mastered it, and plays additional guitars.
