The Obreros Especializados bring “El día de la IA”, their first album of new material in fourteen years, which still has no release date

Aviador Dro play Sala 3 at Razzmatazz on Friday 9 October, doors at eight. Advance tickets are €21 with fees included and €24 on the door; under-16s need a parent or legal guardian and a signed authorisation. Miles Away promotes, and tickets are sold through the venue’s site and milesaway.es.

It is the only Catalan date on the first leg of the tour, which the band have named “El día de la IA” and which takes in Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Seville, Salamanca and Valencia. The poster dates the run from 2026 to 2027, so there will be a second leg.

The set mixes the classics from the band’s forty-seven years with songs from “El día de la IA”, which they themselves describe as their first original sonic artefact in fourteen years. The last album of new material is “La Voz de la Ciencia”, from 28 May 2012; what came in between, “Futuro perfecto” (2019), is ten re-recordings of their own songs — “La chica de plexiglás”, “Amor industrial”, “Nuclear sí, por supuesto”, “Laser” — with guests including Xoel López and Guille Mostaza. No release date has been announced for the new record.

The group formed in Madrid in 1979 around Servando Carballar, who sings and plays synthesisers under the name Biovac N. The tour is backed by AIE and Subterfuge Records.
