Protomartyr have previewed «Exalted Eagles» four days ahead of releasing «Hotel Usona», their seventh album, out Friday 25 September on Domino. It’s the third track heard from it, after «Sounds We Cannot Hear» and «Feed The Sewer», and singer Joe Casey presents it as “the last taste” of the album before it drops.
The record is nine songs cut at Tarbox Road Studios, in western New York state, produced by Dave Fridmann with guitarist Greg Ahee. The label’s note frames it as a portrait of the United States imagined as an ageing hotel, where each song occupies a room with its own troubled guest: artificial intelligence, deportations, violence and fatherhood all turn up.
Casey, Ahee, drummer Alex Leonard and bassist Scott Davidson are touring the US and Canada this autumn, and cross into Europe in February 2027: the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic and Denmark. No date in Spain.
