The Brighton duo return with «Stay Lonely», released 18 September, on the tour’s only Catalan date

Blood Red Shoes play Razzmatazz’s Sala 2 on Saturday 3 October at nine in the evening. Advance tickets are 27 € with fees included, through Ticketmaster, and the venue applies its usual house rule: under-16s only accompanied.

The duo is Laura-Mary Carter, on guitar and vocals, and Steven Ansell, on drums and vocals. They’re presenting “Stay Lonely”, out on Friday 18 September through V2 Records, which they wrote, recorded, produced and mixed entirely themselves, with no producer or A&R involved. It’s ten songs, previewed by “Screams” in April and the double single “Start To End” and “Get Back Into Myself” in June.

It’s the first full tour they’ve done since the twentieth-anniversary shows of 2024, captured on the live album “20 Years Of Blood Red Shoes: Live In Paris”. In between, each had gone their own way, with Carter releasing a solo record and opening for Queens Of The Stone Age.

“When there’s just two of you in a band for more than two decades, you develop psychic powers,” the duo says of the reunion. “When we play live we never count ‘1, 2, 3, 4’: we just look each other in the eye and know when to start the song together.”

The European tour covers ten countries between 20 September and 31 October. In Spain there are three dates in a row, with Barcelona last: Madrid on 1 October at Moby Dick, Bilbao on the 2nd at Azkena, and Razzmatazz on the 3rd. There’s no other Catalan date.
