Rise Above Dead, from Milan, release “Voidmass” on 27 November through Argonauta Records, and introduce it with “Drowning Slowly”, the first single and the first video. Andrea Rondanini, who sang on the band’s early records, is back on vocals.

It is their first album in six and a half years — “Ulro” came out on 1 May 2020 through Moment of Collapse — and their first for Argonauta. The band has been going since 2010 and describes itself as cinematic post-metal and sludge.

There are six tracks: “Annihilation/Rebirth”, “Drowning Slowly”, “Voices Fade Away”, “Fragile Ground”, “Event Horizon” and “Through Zenith”, which closes the record with a guest appearance by Emtu. The label presents it as a turn towards a more vocal approach to the post-metal the band has been making over the years.

The CD comes in a three-panel digisleeve and starts shipping around 30 November; the digital pre-order is six euros and the physical one twelve. The album runs thirty-three minutes and forty-one seconds.
