The Australian trio bring their big-guitar grunge to Razzmatazz 3, ahead of November’s new EP

Headsend play Razzmatazz 3 on Thursday 10 September, with Doctor Music, tickets 21 €. Doors open at half past seven and the show starts at nine. It’s the Australian trio’s first time in Barcelona.

The band is brothers Rasmus and Kyuss King and Bon Soric, a friend of theirs from school, and they come from the Byron Bay area, on Australia’s east coast. They play big-guitar grunge, with the sun-and-guitar California rock residue their own promoter sums up as “slacker rock”: solid song structures, heavyweight riffs and a voice that doesn’t shout much.

So far their only release is the debut EP “Angel Glands”, to which they’ve been adding standalone singles — “Free”, “Slayerish” and “Biopsy Of An Unknown Growth”. Their second EP, “A Delicate Balance”, was announced last week and comes out on 6 November; they recorded it live in Byron Bay with producer Nick DiDia.
