The only Catalan date of the “SPLAT!” tour, with Jayler opening

Deep Purple play the Sant Jordi Club on Monday 19 October at 7.30pm, with Jayler opening. It is the only Catalan date on the tour: they play the Movistar Arena in Madrid the following night and there is no other Spanish stop.

They bring “SPLAT!”, released by earMUSIC on 3 July. It is the band’s twenty-fourth studio album and the sixth in a row produced by Bob Ezrin, a run that goes back to “Now What?!” in 2013. There are thirteen tracks and the first one heard, on 12 May, was “Arrogant Boy”.

Ian Gillan called it “music for the end of humanity (…but not as grim as it may seem)”. With him are Roger Glover on bass, Ian Paice on drums, Don Airey on keyboards and Simon McBride on guitar.

The European tour runs to thirty-seven dates, from 29 September at Arena 8888 in Sofia to 25 November. The last time the band played the Barcelona area was at Barcelona Rock Fest in 2024, in Santa Coloma de Gramenet; they have not played the city itself for seventeen years.

Jayler are a quartet from the West Midlands: James Bartholomew on vocals and guitar, Tyler Arrowsmith on guitar, Ricky Hodgkiss on bass and keys and Ed Evans on drums. Their first album, “Voices Unheard”, came out on Silver Lining Music on 29 May, produced by George Perks, and reached number three on the Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart. This week they released the video for “The Getaway”.
