Third Sign, the Berlin duo of multi-instrumentalist and producer Lars Mindach and singer and lyricist Monika Herold, released their debut album, “The Apocalypse Didn’t Happen”, on 19 June 2026 on the Masalai label. According to the band’s press release, it was recorded and produced in Berlin, at Third Sign Studio, and the cover is based on hand-made drawings by Laura Seitz. It has twelve tracks, from “Errors and Omissions” to “Persephone, Pt. 1”; “Nightbirds” was the lead single, with a video on YouTube since 5 June.

The music is Mindach’s, and the melodies, vocals and lyrics are Herold’s, except on “Light as a Feather”, with lyrics and vocals by Hendrik Reuter. Mindach and Herold arranged and produced the album. The guests are Finn Hoffmann, on trumpet on “The Devil’s Song” and “More Moonlight”, and drummers Marvin Blamberg, on “Chains”, and Ronny Dehn, on “More Moonlight”, “Nightbirds” and “Light as a Feather”. The album is on Longlist 4/2026 of the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik, the German record critics’ award, in the rock jury’s category. The list was published on 5 October.
