King Buffalo release «Doomsayer» on 4 December, their seventh record, on Stickman Records. The first preview, «The Slick and the Dead», is out now, and pre-orders open Friday 25 September.
It’s seven tracks: «Battling The Mystagogues», «The Slick and the Dead», «Vagabond», «Hell or High Water», «Into the Foundry», «Ether on the Dark Side» and «Doomsayer».
It’s been four years since the Rochester trio last put out a record. The previous one, «Regenerator», closed out in 2022 the trilogy they recorded during the pandemic. Since then they’ve toured heavily and built their own studio, finished last year; the label says the new material grew out of the improvisations they recorded once the build was done.
The North American tour runs twenty-nine dates from 29 October to 18 December, from Boulder to Columbus, taking in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. The band also announces a return to Europe for 2027 and says tickets go on sale Friday, though the dates page on their site doesn’t list any yet.
