The Slackers are an American band formed in 1991 in Brooklyn, New York. Their sound is a blend of ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub, soul, garage rock and jazz, making them one of the most significant bands on the New York scene.
Members of The Slackers are involved in several side projects, including David Hillyard & The Rocksteady 7, Crazy Baldhead Sound System, The SKAndalous All Stars, as well as a solo acoustic project from Vic Ruggiero.
