The Autumn Defense play Reus on 18 October, at Lo Submarino as part of the Festival Accents, and Barcelona on the 20th, at the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm with the Delicatessen series. They are the two Catalan dates on a seven-stop Spanish run that takes in Madrid (Sala El Sol, the 14th), Málaga (15th), Cádiz (16th) and Granada (17th) first, with Castelló’s Teatre del Raval on the 19th in between.
The band is John Stirratt and Pat Sansone, who started it in the late nineties and who spend the rest of the year in Wilco: Stirratt is the bassist and the only member there since the first album, and Sansone joined in 2004.
What they’re touring is “Here And Nowhere”, released on 10 October 2025 on Yep Roc. Eleven songs and forty-nine minutes, produced and mixed by Sansone, recorded at Creative Workshop in Nashville between October 2022 and February 2025. It’s their seventh album and the first in eleven years: the one before, “Fifth”, is from 2014.
