They arrive with “BLISS”, their fifth album, released on 26 June through V2 Records and self-produced. It is their first since “Exotico” (2023), and electronics sit alongside the psychedelia: “Vendetta”, one of the advance tracks, puts scuzzy riffs next to synthesisers and a dance melody. The first track they put out from it was “Jet Stream Heart”.
It is the tour’s only Catalan date and the last of seven consecutive Spanish shows: Santiago de Compostela on the 16th (Capitol), Madrid on the 17th (Teatro Eslava), Zaragoza on the 18th (Sala López), Granada on the 19th (Aliatar), Seville on the 20th (Sala X), Bullas on the 21st — at the La Almazara youth centre, part of the Antioxidante series — and Barcelona on the 22nd.
They had already played Catalonia this year: on 30 May they appeared at Festival Maig in Santa Coloma de Queralt, four weeks before “BLISS” came out. In Barcelona, the last time was 13 November 2024 at Apolo, on the tour marking ten years of “Sun Structures” and the EP “Other Structures”, which collected four unreleased songs from those sessions and two remixes of “Shelter Song”.
James Bagshaw and Thomas Walmsley started the band in Kettering in 2012, recording at home, and Heavenly Recordings signed them before they had an album. Adam Smith and Rens Ottink complete the line-up. “Sun Structures”, the 2014 debut, reached number 7 on the UK chart.
