“Deliverance”, Opeth’s sixth album, is coming back on CD and on a limited clear double vinyl. Music For Nations and Sony Music are putting it out on 27 November, and pre-orders are already open at Burning Shed and at record shops, some of which bill it as an anniversary edition.
The original album is from 2002 and was produced by Mikael Åkerfeldt and Steven Wilson together, after “Blackwater Park”, from 2001. The vinyl spreads its six tracks over four sides: “Wreath” on the first; “Deliverance” and “A Fair Judgement” on the second; “For Absent Friends” and “Master’s Apprentices” on the third, and “By The Pain I See In Others” on the fourth.
Bruce Soord remixed “Deliverance” in 2015, in stereo and 5.1, for the joint edition with Steven Wilson’s “Damnation” remix that came out on 30 October that year. The announcement does not say which of the two mixes this reissue uses.
