Lovebites are taking 2027 off the stage. The band announced it on Friday in a message on their Facebook page: there will be no concerts all year, but there will be new songs, and they say they hope to be back onstage in 2028 without giving a date.
The break comes at the end of their tenth-anniversary year. In 2026 they put out their fifth album, “Outstanding Power”, released on 18 February on Victor and Napalm Records; toured Japan and abroad; played Wacken Open Air; and on 29 March filled Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan for the first time. During the break the members will keep writing and keep their own projects going.
It isn’t the band’s first pause. On 17 August 2021 bassist and founder Miho left Lovebites and the rest suspended all activity until October 2022, when they introduced Fami as their new bassist. The band formed in Tokyo in 2016.
