Joan As Police Woman has released “Save Me”, the song she sings with Iggy Pop. It is one of the tracks on “Real Life Evolution”, the album that came out on 12 June through Reveal Records with ten new readings of her debut, “Real Life”. A live version has been released as well.
Iggy Pop’s vocal was captured with a portable rig in a hotel room while the two of them were touring New Zealand. They have known each other for years — they first met on a recording project dedicated to Edgar Allan Poe — and Wasser now plays in his band.
“Iggy is one of the great romantics,” Wasser says. “When I joined his band on Wurlitzer organ and vocals, I began to weep while in rehearsal for ‘The Passenger’. His voice is simply one of the greatest of all time.”
The twentieth anniversary tour for “Real Life” runs from November 2026 to May 2027 and has been extended with three new cities: Barcelona, Rome and Katowice. The published calendar only lists the Katowice one, on 3 November at the Rialto; of the Barcelona date neither the venue nor the day has been given. Of the leg already announced, the 12 November show at the Zonnehuis in Amsterdam is listed as sold out.
