Dungeon Serpent release «Lamentations Of The Shadowkingdoms» on 30 October. It’s the Vancouver band’s second record, their first for Profound Lore Records, arriving five years after «World Of Sorrows». They’ve previewed the video for «Rainland’s Elegy».
It’s six tracks. Arawn handles vocals, guitars, keyboards and bass, and the project now includes drummer Bhraonáin, of Fake Dust, and violinist Anju Singh, of The Nausea. On the first record the drums were programmed.
The label describes it as melodic death metal opening up toward black metal, brutal death and even jazz and grind, with a mix where the basslines come through clearly. It was handled by Damian Herring, of Horrendous, at his Subterranean Watchtower studio.
