Wednesday 18 November, two sets at Jamboree, at 7pm and 8.30pm. Francesco Bearzatti, the Italian saxophonist and clarinettist, brings a new trio with guitarist Federico Casagrande and German drummer Jens Düppe. There’s no bass: according to the venue’s page, that’s what leaves room for the guitar and sax to intertwine.
The set mixes jazz standards with original material from all three. Bearzatti had already recorded a duo album with Casagrande, “And Then Winter Came Again” (2024), and the two play as a duo in Prato on 10 November.
On Bearzatti’s calendar, Barcelona is the only date in Spain; on 12 November he plays Cologne with Düppe in a different line-up. MasiMas Live is promoting the show; general admission is 24 euros, or 20 for members.
