Hasse Fröberg & Musical Companion, the band formed in 2009 by The Flower Kings’ singer and guitarist, are to split. The news comes with a live album, “One Night Only – Live”, out on FREIA Music on 27 November.

The album captures the band’s show at Katalin in Uppsala, their home town, on 2 November 2024: almost an hour of music drawn from right across their catalogue.

The idea for HFMC dates back to 2008, when Fröberg kept writing new songs and started thinking about a band of his own. He has sung and played guitar in The Flower Kings for thirty years, and in the 1980s he was in the Swedish hard rock band Spellbound. The line-up came together in 2009, and the debut album, “FuturePast”, followed in 2010.

The last two shows are already booked: ArtRock Festival XV in Reichenbach, Germany, on 3 April 2027, and Katalin in Uppsala, where the album was recorded, on 16 April.

“One Night Only – Live” will be on all the major digital platforms and on CD, in a jewel case with a twelve-page booklet. The first pressing is limited to 300 individually numbered copies.
