The Pretty Reckless have released a new version of “About You” with Dave Grohl on drums and backing vocals and Pat Smear on guitar. The original track is on “Dear God”, the band’s fifth album, out on 26 June through Fearless Records with fourteen songs.
“‘About You’ is one of my favorite songs on the record, so I wanted to do something special,” Taylor Momsen says. “I called Dave and Pat and asked them if they’d lend their magic to it. It was an amazing time in the studio making music, there’s nothing better than jamming with friends. I couldn’t be happier with the result.”
The Pretty Reckless opened for AC/DC on this year’s North American tour, and the two bands’ paths crossed twice: both times it was the Foo Fighters who took their slot. The first was on 8 September in St. Louis, the day before Momsen sang with Soundgarden at the Seattle Seahawks’ season kickoff. The second was on 2 October at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, the night that closed the tour; the day before, The Pretty Reckless had played Aftershock in Sacramento.
