Umbilicus have released “Prelude: Eternity”, the second single from “Ambiguous”, a five-track EP that Listenable Insanity release on 20 November on twelve-inch vinyl and digitally. The track runs seven minutes and four seconds; the first single, “Take Off”, ran three minutes and twelve seconds.
“‘Prelude: Eternity’ is probably my favorite track on the record,” says guitarist and keyboard player Taylor Nordberg. “I couldn’t be more proud of how this one turned out.”
The line-up is completed by drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz, bassist Vernon Blake and singer Brian Stephenson. Mazurkiewicz is Cannibal Corpse’s drummer and Nordberg plays guitar in Deicide, but what they play here is late-sixties and seventies rock.
Nordberg and Jeramie Kling recorded, mixed and mastered the EP at Smoke & Mirrors Productions, their studio in Spring Hill, Florida.
The other three titles on “Ambiguous” are “Lord Stormbrew”, “Winter’s Warmth” and “Magus Stellarum”. The band’s debut, “Path Of 1000 Suns”, came out on 30 September 2022 with ten songs.
