Matt Woods and The Natural Disasters play Razzmatazz 3 on Tuesday 20 October at half past eight in the evening. Advance tickets are €20 plus booking fee, sold through Mutick, and the show is for over-sixteens or accompanied minors. Rocksound BCN and Producciones Acaraperro are promoting it, inside the ninth edition of the Rootsound Fest.
It is not the first time Woods has opened this festival: he is the one who inaugurated its first edition, on 13 September 2019, in a Sala Rocksound holding about fifty people, according to the review Science of Noise ran at the time. That night he was touring “Natural Disasters” and played eight of the sixteen songs that night from it, and it was not his first concert in the city either.
This time he is not bringing a record. “Natural Disasters”, from 28 June 2019, is still his last full-length: in between there is the EP “Mornings After” (2020), the split-billed “Reasons” with Jill Ulmer (2023), the tenth anniversary reissue of “With Love from Brushy Mountain” and, since 2025, three standalone singles —“Burning Bed”, “Getaway Driver” and “Let Love Ring”, the last one with Adam Lee, SHEPHERD and Justin Wells.
Woods is from Knoxville, in east Tennessee, and has spent more than a decade working outside the Nashville structures, with country and folk songs that carry southern rock on top. He’s toured Europe every year since “How To Survive”, from 2016.
The Spanish run is fourteen shows, from Navalmoral de la Mata on 9 October to Valladolid on the 25th. There is a second Catalan date: on the 17th they play Sala Platea in Girona.
