Palaye Royale release “Amsterdamage”, their sixth studio album, on 22 January 2027 through Sumerian Records. It runs to twelve songs and the first single, “Lost In Translation”, came out today. The limited edition adds a bonus track, “The Unholy One”.
It was written across 2025, between tours, with sessions running from the San Diego coastline to the Netherlands before the record was finished at Chris Greatti’s Los Angeles studio. Emerson Barrett says the album is what held the three brothers together after the death of their mother, Stephanie Rachel, in 2024.
“I think if we didn’t have this album, we would have all kind of gone separate ways,” he says. “After losing our mother, this is our phoenix rising from the ashes. Each one of us took our own paths in dealing with death, and rejoined not only as individuals, but with our partners, and as brothers. This creative bond was the thing that kept us together.”
Remington Leith says “Lost In Translation” was written with the mid-2000s British rock the band grew up on in mind. They wanted something upbeat, “but the lyrics represent wanting to make something work so bad, whether it be a dream or a relationship and it seems like something is in the way of it working out”.
The tour starts in Europe in March. The announced dates are Manchester at the O2 Apollo on 30 March, Glasgow at the O2 Academy on the 31st, Dublin at the 3Olympia on 1 April and London at OVO Arena Wembley on 3 April; nothing in Spain. The North American run opens in Dallas on 18 April and ends with four consecutive nights on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles — El Rey, The Roxy, The Viper Room and The Fonda Theatre — from 13 to 16 May. General sale is on 9 October.
