Anthrax released “Cursum Perficio” today, their twelfth studio album. The title is a Latin phrase that translates as “I complete my journey.” It’s eleven tracks, produced by Jay Ruston and the band themselves, released by Megaforce in the United States and Nuclear Blast in Europe.
It was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles. Three of the tracks had already come out as singles — “It’s For The Kids” on 15 May, “The Edge Of Perfection” on 10 July and “Everybody’s Got A Plan” on 6 August — and today the title track joins them.
“The video captures everything I’m exploring in the lyrics. They’re broad in scope… how do you quantify your life?” says Scott Ian. Charlie Benante adds: “What I like about this video is how well it fits the tone of the song. This track has always been the dark horse of the record.”
The video is directed by Don Argott, who previously directed the Taylor Swift documentary series. It’s in black and white, shot like a documentary, and stars actor London May.
