Wolf Hoffmann has confirmed that Accept invited every original member of the band, Udo Dirkschneider included, to take part in their fiftieth-anniversary album, and that none accepted. He says so in a new interview on “The David Ellefson Show”, hosted by the former Megadeth bassist: “We invited every one of the old members, of the original members, to be part of this. But as it happens, nobody wanted to have anything to do with it, which is quite sad, I believe, because it would’ve been a great way to reconnect or something, or even as a friendly gesture.”
“Teutonic Titans 1976–2026” came out on 4 September through Napalm Records and consists of nineteen new versions of the band’s own songs, ordered chronologically from “I’m A Rebel” (1980) to “Eat The Heat” (1989), with fifty guests. Tobias Forge of Ghost sings “Save Us”; Philip Anselmo, Kirk Hammett and Mikkey Dee take on “Fast As A Shark”; Rob Halford and Matthias Jabs handle “Balls To The Wall”, and Billy Corgan with Ellefson himself do “Love Child”. K.K. Downing, Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth, Hansi Kürsch, Chris Jericho, Ralf Scheepers, Billy Sheehan, Ola Englund and Jeff Loomis also appear.
The only track recorded by the band’s current line-up is “Hellhammer”, with Hoffmann, bassist Martin Motnik, guitarist Philip Shouse and drummer Christopher Williams, and Jason McMaster of Dangerous Toys on vocals. Hoffmann is the only founder still in the band.
