Soilwork released “Night Whispers & Shining Lights” on 21 October, a standalone track on Nuclear Blast. It is not part of any announced album: the band had it put away and are bringing it out now to close their 30th-anniversary year.
“‘Night Whispers & Shining Lights’ is a hidden gem that’s been brewing in the vaults for a couple of years but celebrates our 30th anniversary and the embarkation of our tour with Amon Amarth and Orbit Culture in a grand way,” says Björn “Speed” Strid, who sings in the band.
That tour has a Catalan stop. The three bands play Sant Jordi Club on Friday 13 November, with Amon Amarth headlining and Route Resurrection promoting; the first batch of tickets is listed as sold out and the promoter has announced a second.
Soilwork formed in Helsingborg in late 1995 under the name Inferior Breed and changed it the following year. They have spent 2026 looking back month by month, going through the catalogue two albums at a time with never-before-seen studio footage and rare material.
Their most recent album is “Övergivenheten”, fourteen tracks released on 19 August 2022, also on Nuclear Blast. The band say they are working on its successor and have given neither a title nor a date.
