Peter Gabriel has timed another song to the full moon: on Monday he released “Who Are We Talking To?”, the eleventh track from “o\i”. It’s the lunar clock the album has kept since January, and for now only its dark side is out, the Dark-Side mix, issued as a single on streaming services.
It’s the sixth song in the running order, between “Won’t Stand Down” and “Yes, It Will Go”. Eleven of thirteen are now out; two remain, “Yes, It Will Go” and “Sacrament”, and there’s a month to go before “o\i” arrives in full on 27 November.
Gabriel frames it and 2023’s “i/o” as two halves of a single body of work, and as on that album, every song has two mixes: the Bright-Side, by Mark “Spike” Stent, and the Dark-Side. Last month’s track, “Face the Wall”, had to wait two weeks for its Bright-Side mix, which came with the new moon on 10 October.
As of Monday morning, Gabriel hadn’t posted anything about the song on his website, where the latest entry is dated 17 October.
