Epica released “Live at The Symphonic Synergy” today, the concert they played at AFAS Live in Amsterdam on 20 September 2024 with a full orchestra and choir. It runs to twenty tracks, is digital only and comes out on Nuclear Blast. The recording is not new: it came out on 11 April 2025 on DVD and Blu-ray inside the special edition of “Aspiral”, and what arrives today is the standalone digital release.
The recording opens with “Welcome to The Symphonic Synergy” and closes with “Consign to Oblivion”; in between are “Unleashed”, “The Essence of Silence”, “Sensorium” and a medley named after the show. The video for “Consign to Oblivion” is already up.
The label does not name the orchestra or the choir. It calls the show a monumental milestone in a career now past twenty years, and says the house was sold out.
It is not the band’s first orchestral live record: “The Classical Conspiracy”, recorded in Miskolc, came out in May 2009 with twenty-eight tracks. Their most recent studio album is “Aspiral”, from 11 April 2025.
