He goes on alone, with his voice and an acoustic guitar that has one string left. The Jamaican’s name is Andrew Anthony Chin and he is the son of reggae singer Freddie McKay. The venue files the show under blues, reggae and soul.
The song that made his name is “Chicken in the Corn”. Filmmaker Luciano Blotta put it on the soundtrack of the documentary “Rise Up” in 2007, and the video posted in 2013 has passed seventy million views. Since then he has played the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, GlobalFest in New York, WOMAD and Summerjam.
On 17 June this year he released “Burn Dem Down” with Sean Paul. The last full-length under his own name is “All You Need Is One, Vol. 1”, from December 2019, with sixteen tracks.
