Bruce Dickinson told the Colombian station Radioacktiva on 2 October that his new solo album is finished and that he will take it on the road next year. “The new solo album, frankly, is up there with the best stuff that I’ve ever done,” he said. “You have to wait till next year to hear it, although there will be something out very soon.”
He recorded it in January and February of this year at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Northridge, California, with Brendan Duffey producing and with Mistheria on keyboards, Dave Moreno on drums, Tanya O’Callaghan on bass and Chris Declercq and Philip Näslund on guitars. His son Austin contributes, and Sepultura’s Andreas Kisser plays percussion. It comes out through BMG in early 2027: neither the title nor the date has been announced.
In August he shot five videos in Nevada with director Leo Liberti, built to fit together as a single story. Of his previous album, “The Mandrake Project” (2024), he says the new one is a whole level above it.
On Iron Maiden he would say nothing concrete: “We have a few surprises up our sleeve with Iron Maiden, which I can’t tell you about.” He added that Steve Harris likes the new solo material. The “Run For Your Lives” fiftieth-anniversary tour is due to continue through Latin America, Oceania and Japan.
