Until now they were Poppy Seeds. Sylvie Courvoisier’s quartet, with Courvoisier on piano and writing the music, Patricia Brennan (vibraphone), Thomas Morgan (double bass) and Dan Weiss (drums), is now called Amalthea, and under that name releases its debut album, “Amalthea”, on Pyroclastic Records on 13 November.

On 29 October Courvoisier was booked for two shows in Barcelona with a different project, the Shortcuts trio, with Ned Rothenberg (clarinet, alto saxophone and shakuhachi, a Japanese bamboo flute) and Nasheet Waits (drums): Jamboree’s Sala 1, at 7pm and 8.30pm.
