Bakelit, the electronic and progressive rock project of Swedish keyboardist Carl Westholm – a regular Candlemass collaborator and a founding member of Avatarium – will release its third album, “Wake Up Terrified”, on 27 November. It was recorded over the winter and spring of 2026, and Westholm plays keyboards, synthesizers, bass, theremin and vocoder, as well as producing it.

The first single, “In a Crash”, came out on 23 October, and the second, “The Alien”, follows on 6 November. Bakelit’s two earlier albums are “Asleep or Insane” (2024) and “No Fear of Drowning” (September 2025).

Westholm has also played in Carptree, Jupiter Society and Abstrakt Algebra, and in the original Krux line-up. Joining him in Bakelit are Öivin Tronstad and Cia Backman on vocals, Ulf Edelönn on guitar and, on drums, Jonas Källsbäck of The Night Flight Orchestra.
