The Browning play Razzmatazz 2 on Monday 2 November, on a night put on by Resurrection Fest. Advance tickets are €32 plus fees and €40 on the door, and it is for over-sixteens, or for minors with an adult and a signed authorisation. The venue’s page gives neither a doors time nor a start time.
Two bands go with them: the Slovenians Within Destruction and the Czechs Abbie Falls, who are on most of the twenty-two dates of this autumn’s European and British tour.
What they bring is “Omni”, which FiXT released on 8 November 2024 and which is their sixth album. In between there has been an unusual move: in February this year they re-recorded “Burn This World”, their 2011 debut, from top to bottom, and put it out as “Burn This World [EVOLVED]” — digitally on 11 February and on vinyl on the 27th — with all thirteen tracks redone. “15 years of Evolution has led me to fully recreating Burn This World from scratch,” said singer Jonny McBee, promising “heavier breakdowns, higher energy techno, better vocals”.
The latest release is the single “OBSOLETE. Delete. Repeat.”, from 26 August. The blend is the one it always was: deathcore and extreme metal with hardstyle, trance and dubstep. They have had three labels, Earache for the first two albums, Spinefarm for the next three and FiXT since 2024.
Of the tour’s three Spanish dates, Barcelona is the only Catalan one: the next day they are at Sala Nazca in Madrid and on the 4th at Jimmy Jazz in Vitoria.
