“In The Wide Vale Of Uncreated Night”, the debut album by Lugubrious Garment, has been streaming in full on YouTube since 14 October and comes out on the 16th through 20 Buck Spin on vinyl, CD and digital. Lugubrious Garment is the new venture of Gabriele Gramaglia, from Milan, who already runs Cosmic Putrefaction and Vertebra Atlantis.
It runs to seven tracks and forty minutes. Gramaglia plays guitars, bass, vocals, synths and sound design, and wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered it himself at Crepuscular Sound Studio between autumn 2025 and spring this year. Claudio Invidia handles all the drums; Yr-nhhngr adds vocals, Giorgio Trombino the solo in the closing section of “Transient Wounds, Spiritual Wilt” and Andrea Morgan violin and viola on two further tracks. The artwork is by Mariya Popyk.
The label presents it as a more instinctive and ravenous outlet than the rest of Gramaglia’s work, with the weight on momentum rather than structure, and traces it back to last year’s “Demo MMXXV”.
The longest track is “Profaned Fountain Of Leaden Waters”, at seven and a half minutes.
