American alto saxophonist Jim Snidero plays Jamboree on Saturday 17 October, in the venue’s usual double set, at 19:00 and 20:30. Tickets are 25 €, 21 € for club members, and are listed as sold out.
He’s joined by a local rhythm section: Olivier Truchot on piano, Ignasi González Tejada on double bass and Valentín Jam on drums. Snidero arrives with “Bird Feathers” (2025) as his most recent work, a title that declares where his language comes from: the alto line running from Charlie Parker through Phil Woods and Cannonball Adderley, with a clean tone and precise articulation.
Off stage he has a second life that explains part of his influence: the “Jazz Conception” method books have become standard material in jazz schools across half the world, and several generations of musicians have learned to phrase with his exercises.
